POLICY:
To operate a bicycle on campus, it must be currently licensed in accordance with applicable State law and local ordinance. Every person riding a bicycle upon a roadway or path of California State University, Northridge is subject to all provisions of the California Vehicle Code and university regulations (Sections 21113a and 21200, California Vehicle Code).All bicycles must be parked in bicycle compounds or approved bicycle racks. No bicycles are permitted in any CSUN buildings except when for authorized instructional purposes.Illegally parked bicycles are subject to impounding (Section 21113a, California Vehicle Code).
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this policy is to regulate the use of bicycles on the California State University, Northridge campus.
PROCEDURES:
Bicycle registration information and materials are available from the Department of Public Safety (x3946).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Department of Public Safety is responsible for code enforcement of bicycles on campus and also manages the campus bicycle registration process.
