Charge/Mission:
Operating under a Memorandum of Understanding with the University, the mission of the California State University, Northridge Alumni Association is to create opportunities and networks for alumni to become more connected to and interactive with the University and with one another. The Alumni Association builds relationships and engages alumni according to academic and professional associations, personal interests and student club and organization involvements. The Alumni Association offers extensive benefits to nearly 10,000 active, dues-paying members. The Association provides avenues for alumni to express loyalty to their alama mater and attempts to garner the individual and collective talents of its members and 185,000 alumni in support of the University. Founded in 1960 as the San Fernando Valley State Alumni Association, The Association will celebrate its golden anniversary in 2010.

Leadership:
Members of the Alumni Association Board are volunteer leaders who support and advise the University on matters relating to alumni. The Association is governed by an Executive Council and is further advised by an Alumni Leadership Council. The Council of Alumni Advisors (The Past Presidents of the Assocation) advise the Association and University on matters pertaining to alumni engagement.
Membership:
Open to all those who are loyal to CSUN and wish to express pride in and associate with the University. Individuals may join the Association at www.csunalumni.com.
Membership Rates:
$40 single annual; $50 joint annual; $20 recent graduates and faculty and staff; $500 single lifetime; $600 joint lifetime. The Association also offers a discounted "recession rate" of $25.
Meeting Schedule:
There are four (4) Quarterly meetings of the Executive Council of the Board of Directors with two of those meetings held similtaneously with the Leadership Council. The Association's two dozen Alumni Chapters and Committees meet often through the year. The May-June meeting is designated as the "Annual Meeting" and is open to all alumni.
Committee Classification:
A Memorandum of Understanding between the University and the Alumni Association, interpreted together with Title 5, Article 15 of the California Code of Regulations defines the nature and scope of the relationship between the University and the Alumni Association.
