How To Pay Your Fees

I. UNIVERSITY FEES BILLING QUESTIONS: FALL 2008

Registration fees are due at the time of registration, but may be paid according to the Fee Payment Schedule below.

Registration in classes will be cancelled unless payment is made by the due date, OR your Student Center (SOLAR) account shows that you:

• Have Anticipated Financial Aid sufficient to cover your fees;
• Have activated an Installment Payment Plan (IPP). See "Installment Payment Plan";
• Are sponsored by a third party and the sponsor agreement has been received by CSUN;
• Are approved for fee waiver.

For students whose fees and tuition are NOT deferred by financial aid or other reasons, fees must be paid by the due date. CSUN does not provide invoices to students.

As soon as you register online, Click "Make a Payment" or go to
Select: Student Center (SOLAR) > Finances > Make a Payment

 

To View your Account Information in SOLAR:

• Log into myNorthridge Portal
• Choose "View Account Information" under the 'My Financial Obligations' pagelet

             * If you fail to make your payment in full by the due date, you will be disenrolled from some or all of your classes.

ANY PAYMENTS MADE AFTER THE DEADLINE DATES AND TIMES WILL NOT PREVENT DISENROLLMENT.

IF YOU REGISTER AFTER START OF THE SEMESTER (beginning Monday, 8/25/08), YOU WILL BE CHARGED A NON-REFUNDABLE LATE REGISTRATION FEE OF $25 .

 

II. RESIDENT FEES & NON-RESIDENT TUITION: FALL 2008

Registration fees are subject to change by the Board of Trustees. Any increase in fees will be published as soon as they are approved and will be posted to your student account.

Nonresident and international students must pay basic registration fees plus $339.00 per unit. All basic registration fees are mandatory.

* A Graduate is defined as any student having already earned a bachelor's degree.

III. INSTALLMENT PAYMENT PLAN (IPP): FALL 2008

There are three types of IPPs available, depending on your registration date. Please see below to determine if you are eligible to use one of these Plans. To obtain more information, contact University Cash Services at (818) 677-8000 option 3. An IPP is not activated until the initial payment has been made and the contract has been signed by UCS. Please do not wait until the due date to apply for IPP!  

WHEN REGISTERING FOR CLASSES BETWEEN: March 24, 2008 and June 8, 2008 (You are eligible for INSTALLMENT PAYMENT PLAN A)
1st Installment:	1/3 of the eligible fee plus a $40.00 administrative fee. Due by 5:00 pm on Mon. June 16, 2008
2nd Installment:	1/3 of the eligible fee. Due by 11:59 pm on Mon. July 14, 2008 *
Final Installment:	1/3 of the eligible fee. Due by 11:59 pm on Mon. August 11, 2008 *

WHEN REGISTERING FOR CLASSES BETWEEN: June 9, 2008 and July 13, 2008 (You are eligible for INSTALLMENT PAYMENT PLAN B)
1st Installment:	1/2 of the eligible fee plus a $40.00 administrative fee. Due by 5:00 pm on Mon. July 21, 2008
Final Installment:	1/2 of the eligible fee. Due by 11:59 pm on Mon. August 18, 2008 *

WHEN REGISTERING FOR CLASSES BETWEEN: July 14, 2008 and August 17, 2008 (You are eligible for INSTALLMENT PAYMENT PLAN C)
1st Installment:	1/2 of the eligible fee plus a $40.00 administrative fee. Due by 5:00 pm on Mon. August 18, 2008
Final Installment:	1/2 of the eligible fee. Due by 11:59 pm on Mon. September 15, 2008 *

WHEN REGISTERING FOR CLASSES AFTER: August 17, 2008 IPP IS NOT AVAILABLE.

* If you fail to make your required installment payment in full by the due date, you will be disenrolled from some or all of your classes. Any payments made after the deadline will not prevent disenrollment.

Note: The first installment payment (including a $ 40.00 non-refundable administrative fee) must be made and the contract must be signed in person at University Cash Services, located in the lobby of Bayramian Hall. Subsequent installment payments can be made via myNorthridge Portal account.

    WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR an IPP:

• Residents of California (undergraduate, teaching credential, and graduate students) may pay all registration-related fees through an installment plan.
• Nonresident and international students may use IPP ONLY for the nonresident portion of their registration fees. All other fees must be paid no later than the Fee Payment Schedule due date.

    WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR an IPP:

• Students who defaulted on their IPP in the previous semester.
• Students who are required to prepay tuition in full due to a Multiple Disenrollment Hold.
• Students who have 'Anticipated Aid' displayed on their account.
• Students who registered only through The Roland Tseng College of Extended Learning.
• Sponsored students and students with fee waivers.

IV. HOW TO PAY YOUR FEES: FALL 2008

    TO PAY BY CREDIT CARD:

• American Express, Discover, & MasterCard (VISA IS NOT ACCEPTED)
• The credit card processor SmartPay charges a 2.9% convenience fee to the card holder

   Directions:

• Log into myNorthridge (top right of the CSUN home page)
• Choose "My Path to Graduation" pagelet
• Choose "Student Center (SOLAR)"
• Choose "Finances".
• Choose "Make a Payment".
• Choose "Pay by Credit Card".

   Remember:

• Have your CSUN ID number ready
• Have your CREDIT CARD NUMBER & ITS EXPIRATION DATE ready

    TO PAY BY ELECTRONIC CHECK:

• There is NO convenience fee.

   Directions:

• Log into myNorthridge (top right of the CSUN home page)
• Choose "My Path to Graduation" pagelet
• Choose "Student Center (SOLAR)"
• Choose "Finances".
• Choose "Make a Payment".
• Choose "Pay by Electronic Check".

   Remember:

• Have your CSUN ID number ready
• Have your ROUTING AND CHECKING ACCOUNT NUMBERS ready. This information is located at the bottom of your personal check.

    TO PAY BY MAIL:

• We accept personal check, cashier's check, or money order.
• There is NO convenience fee.

   Directions:

• Go to Any U.S. Postal Mail Box, mail your payment to:

         UNIVERSITY CASH SERVICES

         Northridge, CA 91330-8214

         (The University is NOT responsible for delayed or lost mail).

   Remember:

• Make your check or money order payable to CSUN (or California State University, Northridge)
• Write your CSUN ID number on the check
• To avoid the consequence of a late payment, mail your payment at least 10 days prior to the due date.
  
• (A postmark on the day the payment is due is NOT accepted as a timely payment).

    TO PAY IN PERSON:

• Cash, ATM/Debit Card, Personal Check, Cashier's Check or Money Order.
  Credit Cards are NOT accepted.

   Directions:

• Go To BAYRAMIAN HALL, MAIN LOBBY.
• University Cash Services (Counter), or
• Student Payment Drop Box (at the Information Desk)
• Please DO NOT place cash in the Drop Box.

   Remember:

• Have your CSUN PHOTO ID CARD ready
• Have your CASH, Check or ATM/DEBIT CARD ready .

IMPORTANT!:

It is the sole responsibility of the STUDENT to withdraw from classes. Refunds can only be issued to students who withdraw from classes by the published deadlines. Students are responsible for verifying/confirming their withdrawal from class(es) by printing a copy of their schedule.
