Things to do Before, During and After Your Trip

Recruitment Travel Expenses:

(For Executive Candidates, Faculty Recruitment and Applicants Called for an Interview)

Transportation and lodging costs will be allowed within the United States for Executive Candidates, Faculty Recruitment and Applicants called for an Interview. International Travel must be authorized by the President or the Vice Chancellor of Human Resources and Operations.

ARROW POINTING RIGHT EXECUTIVE CANDIDATES & SPOUSES:

1. Written approval by the Executive Search Advisory Committee or designee is required.

2. Reimbursement for the following expenses will be allowed:

a. Actual transportation costs, not to exceed ground transportation to and from the nearest airport and round-trip coach airfare each.
b. Actual costs of lodging and meals, not to exceed five (5) days.

ARROW POINTING RIGHT FACULTY RECRUITMENT:

1. Recruitment Funds may be used for the following:

a. To bring applicants for probationary faculty positions to CSUN for interviews.
b. To send CSUN faculty to other areas to recruit.
c. To help pay relocation expenses for newly hired probationary faculty.
d. If a CSUN faculty member is sent to other areas to recruit, normal procedures for travel are followed, including filing a Request for Approval of Travel at least two weeks prior to the trip, and completing a Travel Expense Claim Form upon return.

ARROW POINTING RIGHT APPLICANTS CALLED FOR AN INTERVIEW:

1. Applicants called for an interview may be reimbursed for Transportation Costs and Reimbursement Limits as outlined in those sections of this manual. A Travel Expense Claim Form must be completed by the applicant with receipts/vouchers attached.

2. Reimbursement of travel expenses incurred by spouses of selected candidates may only be authorized by the President of the University.
