Pegasus Mail IMAP Quick Setup Guide

 

 

This procedure will create “profiles” that will allow access to the campus mail server via Pegasus Mail. Perform the procedures in its entirety!

 

The IMAP configuration will allow access to a "shared" mailbox regardless of the client (Pegasus Mail or WebMail).

 

 

 

Configuring an IMAP Profile.

 

1.                  Pegasus Mail > Tools > IMAP Profile… [picture]

a.       If “IMAP Profile” is greyed out click Tools > Options > General Settings > Advanced Settings > Select “Always” under Load Windows Internet Service > Click OK

b.      Restart Pegasus Mail and return to Step 1.

2.                  Manage IMAP Profiles > New [picture]

3.                  IMAP Mailbox Settings [picture]

a.       Give a definition name: CSUN IMAP

b.      Enter IMAP Server Address: IMAP.CSUN.EDU

c.       Server Port:  993

d.      Login Name:  enter your campus account (do not use email alias)

e.       Password: leave blank (you will be prompted for a password)

f.        Click on "Settings" tab > General behaviour : UNCHECK ALL. [picture]

g.       Click on the “Security” tab and turn on “Via direct SSL connect”, click OK. [picture]

4.                  Manage IMAP Profiles > Select and highlight  “CSUN IMAP”, click on “Connect” [picture]

5.                  This should connect you to the IMAP server and mount the mailbox.  Click DONE.

6.                  Pegasus Mail > File > Mail Folder… to see the IMAP mailbox. [picture]

 

IMAP mailbox is now available on Pegasus Mail and WebMail.  In addition to having the IMAP mailbox, the “local” Pegasus Mail mailbox is still available. The IMAP mailbox is subject to 100MB quota.  You can move IMAP emails to the “local” mailbox by dragging them to the “local” folders or you can also use the “Move’’ button and then select a folder.
