HOW TO MANUALLY SCAN YOUR WORKSTATION FOR VIRUSES

Your computer does a virus scan on a file when you open it. When you save a file to the file server (F:\), the server will scan it when it is closed.

We schedule a scan of all files stored on all servers on a weekly basis.

We do not schedule scans on workstations except when we suspect a virus problem.

You can manually scan your workstation:

1.
Start > Programs > Symantec Client Security>

Scan for Virus Image One
2.
Symantec AntiVirus Client Scan > Scan Computer >

Scan for Virus Image Two
3.
Check off the C (or any local drive) drive on right panel.
4.
Click on the "options" button and set the following options (see image), click OK.

Scan for Virus Image Three
5.
Then click the "Scan" button. Please DO NOT scan file server drives (drive F and up)!

  Scan for Virus Image Four
