The resources available to you as a victim understand that anonymity is crucial, that’s why the option to remain confidential is completely up to you. Here are several services available to you which will allow you to remain confidential
ON CAMPUS CONFIDENTIAL RESOURCES:
University Police
Emergency: 911 (from a campus phone)
Non-emergency: (818) 677-2111
Whether you desire prosecution or not, as a victim you can file a police report and have your name remain confidential as a matter of public records. You can also request that police do not release your name to support and counseling services offered by the university. Keep in mind that if you chose to prosecute, confidentiality after the reporting process is difficult to control. If a case goes to trial a victim’s privacy is harder to protect as media coverage and criminal proceedings often become a matter of public interest.
