How will CSUN CERT Team members be deployed in an emergency?
Due to the high level of training and versitility, CERT members may be deployed in a number of ways:
• EOC - Operations - light search and rescue
• EOC - Operations - disaster medical
• EOC - Planning - damage assessment
• EOC - Finance - Volunteers
• EOC - Operations - securing perimeter
• Field Operations - incident command post
Who at CSUN leads and orginizes volunteers like CSUN CERT members in the event of an emergency?
Rod Collins, EH&S, and Ben Elisondo, PPM, have been designated as the Volunteer Coordinators in the EOC and in the field.
Will the campus purchase items and supplies for CSUN CERT members individual preparedness kits?
No. Each CSUN employee should fund and stock an individual preparedness kit for use at work, another for your car, and
another at home. Additional equipment, materials, and supplies will be provided to an employee if he/she volunteers or
is requested to participate in response activities on campus.
How will CSUN CERT members communicate with one another?
CSUN CERT team members should be prepared to communicate with one another and the volunteer coordinators through written communication and runners.
How, if at all, will CSUN CERT members be identified?
CSUN CERT members can be recognized and recognize one another by wearing the CERT green vest and
green helmets. They
will also be issued volunteer identification at the emergency.
