PREVENTING THEFT:
Theft is by far the most common crime on the University campus. Most thefts are crimes of opportunity and can be prevented by taking simple precautions.
LIST OF THEFT PREVENTION "DO'S" & "DONT'S".
DO:
Keep valuables with you at all times, or leave them at home.
Record the make, model and serial number of all valuables and keep the record in a safe place.
Engrave your property with your driver's license number.
Report stolen property to the University Police DepartmentAs Soon As Possible!
DO NOT:
Leave textbooks unattended, particularly toward the end of the semester. It is common for thieves to sell stolen textbooks back to the stores.
Leave credit cards, checks, or other valuables with Matador Bookstore employees while shopping.
