PPM's Electric shop maintains the electrical infrastructure for the entire campus, and performs work on major construction jobs, room remodeling, etc.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Installation, repair and maintenance of campus building power
  • Building lighting
  • Fire alarms
  • Emergency generators
  • Blue light phones
  • Swimming pool lights
  • Parking Lot lights
  • Street parking
  • Campus parking structures

Electrical Requirements:

When selecting electrical equipment, please follow the guidelines listed below:

  • All standard 120 volt single phase circuits are limited to 20 amp current capacity.
  • Equipment requiring more than 20 amps should be single phase 208/220 volts or three phase 240/480 volts (480 volt power is not available at some campus locations.

Electrical/Mechanical Rooms :

PPM restricts access to electrical and mechanical rooms to its employees and others under PPM supervision. State and local fire codes prohibit storage of materials in these rooms.


Light Bulbs:

Typically, Facility Services staff replaces building light bulbs and fluorescent tubes at no charge. To have a light replaced, please call your Facility Services manager or contact Work Control at extension 2222.
