Welcome to the Department of Police Services

A MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF OF POLICE

The 353-acre campus of the California State University, Northridge is sited in the heart of Los Angeles` San Fernando Valley. This is a densely populated area in which the California State University, Northridge Police Services Department takes many steps to help all members of the community pursue their educational goals as free as possible from the effects of criminal activity.

Although there are many pleasures associated with urban living, universities today share many of the same problems that exist in the city in which the university resides. California State University, Northridge is no exception and sometimes we experience unwanted crime problems.

No police department can function effectively without the assistance of a responsible community. We need your help and cooperation - only in this manner can we work together for a safe campus.

The information carried in this website is designed to inform you of the police and security support services and programs that have been developed to provide an environment supportive of educational, professional and extracurricular activities. We hope this information is useful to you and that you will follow the crime prevention advice and suggestions.

Sincerely,

Anne P. Glavin

Chief of Police & Director of Police Services
