There are several ways in which you can contact the university police in the event of a police, fire or medical emergency. Certified police dispatchers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Here are some recommendations for staying in touch with your university police department:
- Know the emergency telephone number for the University Police.
- Keep the emergency phone numbers near your phones (stickers). Phone stickers with emergency numbers are available by calling (818) 677-7922.
* 911 from any campus phone or (818) 677-2111 from a cell phone *
- Program emergency phones numbers into your personal cell phone.
- Learn where the campus emergency telephones (Blue Light Telephones/ TTY enabled call boxes) are located on campus and learn how to use them: Emergency Blue Light Phone Map
- Ensure that your personal/emergency contact information is up to date in the web portal for the campus mass notification system.
- You can stop by the police department 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week if you need assistance. We are located at the corner of Darby Avenue and Prairie Street.
"WE TIP" Hotline:
The Department of Police Services operates a We-Tip Hotline that is available for reporting concerns and information regarding criminal activity ANONYMOUSLY. Providing information to university police can be very helpful in solving a crime. Although we hope that you contact the police department and offer information you may have, we also understand that you may have some reservations in doing so and therefore we offer an anonymous way to report. Please help in making Cal State Northridge an even safer community by calling (818) 677-2111 or (818) 677-TIPS (8477) to report crime anonymously.
Did you know?
Dialing 911 from a cell phone while on campus will direct your call to the Los Angeles Police Departmentl, NOT the University Police. Avoid the delay in your call being transferred to university police--dial us directly at (818) 677-2111.
