The goal of Parking and Transportation Services is to provide the best in customer service to our campus communities. Parking on campus requires a valid CSUN parking permit. You may purchase semester and annual parking permits at University Cash Services located in the Student Services Building.
We encourage all persons using our parking facilities to park in designated parking areas and spaces and, to purchase the appropriate parking permit before parking in designated areas and spaces.
All rules and regulations concerning parking may be obtained at any Campus Information Booth or the Parking Office. Our Parking Officers patrol our parking areas daily.
Students can purchase a Summer 2008 semester permit or a daily parking permit for ($5.00) to park. Student parking lots are:
All lots are open Monday through Sunday and parking permits are required at all times. Parking permits must be properly displayed to avoid parking citations.
Students with residential parking permits may park in any student parking lots, the UPA parking structure, and Lot F10, located north of Lassen Street.
A Student or Employee needing a temporary or permanent disabled placard may obtain one by following the directions listed below:
A valid CSUN parking permit must be displayed and the distinguishing license plate or placard issued by the state's Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) when the vehicle is parked in a blue space designated for disabled parking on the CSUN campus.
When a vehicle is displaying a valid CSUN parking permit and a (DMV) distinguishing license plate, or state issued placard, it is permissible for this vehicle to park in time restricted green curb zones and in metered spaces when other disabled spaces in the immediate areas are being used. Fees are not required for such a vehicle parked in a metered space.
The misuse of a disabled placard is a criminal offense under the California Vehicle Code 225511.56 (section b) and may be confiscated by a CSUN Police Officer.
Current CSUN residential parking permits, CSUN faculty/staff parking permits are honored in residential lots including University Village Apartments. Current CSUN residential parking permits are honored in all student lots.
Current CSUN student parking permits are honored in the UPA parking structure (G9), but are not to be honored in residential parking spaces (surface lots) unless prior arrangements have been made with the Parking Office at (818-677-2157) or the Housing Office at (818-677-2160).
Applications for CSUN residential parking permits are located in the Housing Office. Parking Officers patrol these areas daily and are authorized to issue citations on vehicles in violation of parking rules and regulations.

All meters require coins for activation. Permits are not valid at meters and may not be substituted for payment. Paper money will not activate the meter and taping the money to the meter is not acceptable form of payment. Citations will be issued for meter violations.
Metered parking spaces are located on Lindley Avenue(north), Lots B4, B5, G1, G4, G5 and Residential Parking Areas.

WHERE TO DISPLAY PARKING PERMITS: The parking permit must be clearly visible from outside of the vehicle:
To be valid, the parking permit must be affixed to the vehicle front inside windshield, lower corner, passenger side, while parked at CSUN. The entire permit must be visible including serial number and security features. ![]()
Motorcycles or mopeds, must be registered at the Parking Office. Valid DMV registration is needed at the time of registering your motorcycle or moped. These vehicles must be park in motorcycle stalls only.
PARKING FEES FOR STUDENTS:
LOST OR STOLEN PARKING PERMIT:
Report all lost or stolen CSUN parking permits to the Parking Office. An application for a replacement permit and a fee may be processed at the Parking Office. The use of a lost, stolen or altered parking permit is a misdemeanor under California Vehicle Code. Vehicles displaying a permit that has been reported lost or stolen are subject to immobilization or towing.
Parking citations are issued for violations of the University Parking Policy under the California Vehicle Code Section 21113.
A parking citation may be contested through a three level appeal process. An appeal form may be obtained online, or at the Parking Office, corner of Prairie St. and Darby St. or call (818) 677-2157 for further instructions.
If a parking citation is issued on your vehicle, you should do one of the following:
* Ignoring the parking citation will result in a hold on the renewal of your driver's license and vehicle registration by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
