Paratransit Services for Persons with Disabilities:

BASIC SERVICES AVAILABLE:
The Transportation Program at California State University, Northridge provides free transportation to and from the campus for students with disabilities. Students must be referred through the Office of Students with Disabilities Resources. Approved students may then contact the Transportation Program Office at 818.677.3946 for placement on the schedule for the semester. Paratransit van transportation consists of:
• transporting students from their home locations (within a 5-mile radius) and bringing them to campus; and/or
• transporting students between on-campus class locations.
ELIGIBILITY:
Students are eligible for this service if they are:
• First approved through the Center On Disabilities (818-677-2684)
• Reside within 5-miles of the campus (for home-pick-up services)
SCHEDULING PRIORITY:
Each semester, students already registered in the program must reserve their pick-up times by calling the University’s Transportation Program Office (818.677-3946). All scheduling is on a first-come, first-served basis. When the available time configurations for that semester are filled, no more pick-ups are scheduled.
TEMPORARY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES:
Transportation for the “temporarily disabled” may be provided to students, faculty, or staff members who meet the criteria and are approved through the appropriate office. Attempts will be made to accommodate these requests, however, the priority in scheduling will remain on a first-come, first-served, basis. Temporarily disabled faculty and staff must be approved through the Office of Equity & Diversity (818.677.2077).
