New Repayment Plan May Lower Payments
Income Based Repayment (IBR) is a new repayment plan designed to lower monthly payments for several of the major types of federal loans made to students. Under the new IBR plan, required monthly payments are capped at an amount that is intended to be affordable. The revised monthly payment is based on your income and family size.
Employees may want to re-examine their student loan repayment options when looking at the impact of furloughs on their personal financial situation.
