Every new CSUN employee is required to attend New Hire Welcome and Orientation. This 3-hour program provides information that each employee is responsible for knowing, including emergency preparedness and the university's zero tolerence policies. In addition, valuable information is provided on topics including health benefits, fee waiver and the web portal.
New Hire Welcome and Orientation is held the second Wednesday of every month from 9:00 AM - 12:00 noon. Please help your employee attend by blocking off the next New Hire Orientation on your and his/her calendars, and submitting their name for registration at x 2101.
Any employee who has never been to New Employee Welcome and Orientation, or who would like to attend to get updated information on working at CSUN, should obtain approval to attend from the appropriate manager and submit their name for registration at x 2101.
The development of an online job requisition and an online job application that will integrate with CSUN's current version of SOLAR HR is underway. This spring, PeopleSoft's Recruiting Solutions, including an on-line Manager Self Service generated Job Opening (formerly called a Job Requisition) with an automated approval process will be introduced. External Applicants will be able to apply on-line via our web page and Internal Applicants will be able to apply for positions through self-service. This process will help eliminate the need for a paper application and expedite the review of applications and in return decrease the time to hire.
Even the most organized of us runs out of cash sometimes, with too little time to go to the bank and get lunch. Here’s a quick fix. Go to any food court on campus and purchase a Campus Dining a la Card. You pay in cash or by credit card, with a minimum of $35.00. In return, you get a renewable debit card. Each time you use it, you will get a receipt stating your remaining balance. It’s just like cash at on-campus eating establishments, so keep it in a safe place.
