| Duties: | |
Under general supervision, provides administrative and technical support within the Intensive English Program (IEP). Creates new student records on Student Online Administrative Resources (SOLAR) for new applicants who apply online through Mentor or Easy App; creates financial, document, and initial housing check lists; updates existing student SOLAR records with additional documents received; corresponds with agents and students on application status and information on any outstanding documents; performs online process to create invoices for agents and students; communicates with Admissions & Records on students who have applied for IEP and conditional admission to CSUN; maintains undergraduate and graduate applications on SOLAR; ensures that the I-20 and acceptance packet and sent in a timely manner; and performs other duties as assigned. |

| Qualifications: | |
| Equivalent to three years of full-time, increasing responsible experience in customer service and data entry. College education/vocational school training in business or related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience. Experience working with a large database system preferably in higher education context is required. Type at a corrected rate of 45 wpm required. Experience with PeopleSoft software is preferred. | |
| Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities: | |
Thorough knowledge of: correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; office methods, procedures, and practices; and cultural differences and working with international students. Ability and specialized skills to: work in a fast-paced environment that requires teamwork; collaborate with a wide variety of individuals; organize, coordinate, and prioritize multiple tasks; learn, identify, and independently interpret and apply a variety of complex policies and procedures; investigate, analyze, and resolve routine administrative problems; work in a busy environment with frequent interruptions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; independently prepare and draft clear and concise final form of memoranda, reports and correspondence; keep moderately complex records and files; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others; operate standard office machines and computers; and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, and e-mail. |
