| Duties: | |
| Under general supervision, provides advisement including program orientation, career coaching, resume writing, interviewing and job search skills training. Provides placement services, including career days, on-campus interviews, an on-line job and resume database, and placement in internships and full-time positions. Oversees all placement activities for BS in Accountancy, BS in Information Systems, and MS in Taxation students. Conducts career counseling and advisement to BSA, BSIS, and MST students. Develops new and manages existing relationships with employers and oversees all administration and operation of the Center including the budget, office management, and training/supervision of student assistants. Performs other duties as assigned. | |
| Qualifications: | |
| Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university. Equivalent to three years of full-time progressively responsible professional experience in one of the Student Services Program areas or in a related field. A Master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. | |
| Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities: | |
| Thorough knowledge of techniques of individual counseling and principles of individual and group behavior. Working knowledge of the practices, procedures and concepts of student development theory, and methods and practices of planning, organization, and evaluation. Knowledge of general university policies and practices preferred. Ability and specialized skills to: collect, compile, analyze, and evaluate data; and make verbal or written presentations based on the data; advise students individually and in groups; use initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness in planning and carrying out assigned responsibilities; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, administrators, and employers in both individual and group situations. | |
