| GENERAL INFORMATION: | Temporary-renewable, end date to be determined; Hours: 40 hrs/wk, 8:00am-5:00pm M-F, includes some weekends |
| Duties: | |
| Under general supervision, identifies, recruits, and trains potential volunteers; coordinates coverage, supervision and delivery of services on crisis line for all hotline and accompaniment shifts; and evaluates and monitors files for all volunteers. Coordinates supervision of volunteers; and tracks and maintains volunteer hours with regard to in-service and prevention education commitments. Manages and maintains staff/volunteer telephone list to ensure communication between volunteers and paid staff; updates and maintains voicemail system; helps facilitate in-service staff meetings and events for volunteers; and performs other duties as assigned. | |
| Qualifications: | |
| Graduation from high school OR specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities listed below. Knowledge and abilities demonstrated through the equivalent of one year of experience managing personnel in a professional setting. Experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A Master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for professional experience. | |
| Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities: | |
| Highly organized and detailed orientated work ethic. Comfort with public speaking for purposes of volunteer recruitment. Ability to effectively problem solve, motivate and supervise others, whilst establish cooperative relationships. Effective time management skills. Willingness to undergo additional training to be state certified as a Rape Crisis Advocate and become proficient in both agency philosophy and dynamics of interpersonal violence. Prior interest in issues affecting the disenfranchised, child maltreatment and violence against women. Must have access to vehicle 24/7. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. | |
