GENERAL INFORMATION: This position has previously been announced. The position is posted again to indicate a change in qualifications.
Duties:

Under minimum supervision, is responsible for the development, implementation and administration of all phases of Human Resources for the Associated Students (AS) including, but not limited to: employee relations; policy development and interpretation; recruitment, selection and hiring; compensation; benefit programs; and organizational and professional development of staff employees and student employees.  Oversees the development and maintenance of position descriptions and ensures proper classification and compensation; collaborates in the development, implementation, communication, and administration of a comprehensive benefits program for employees; ensures proper initial and amended compensation for employees; securely maintains complete, accurate and otherwise appropriate electronic and paper employee files; recommends on the development, implementation, communication and interpretation of human resources policies and procedures; coordinates all AS-wide training programs; and assists with meetings, risk management, research projects, professional travel, and materials collection for audits.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in management, human resources or related field.  Master’s degree in those fields preferred.  Equivalent to five years of full-time progressively responsible administrative work experience including one year working directly in human resource management, preferably within a public or not-for-profit organization.  The selected candidate must pass a fingerprint clearance.  
Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities:

Through knowledge of: current laws, regulations and policies applicable to human resource functions.  Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in the development, implementation and interpretation of policies and practices in the areas described as pertaining to the positions: recruitment and selection, compensation, benefits, policies, employee relations, and training and development.  Ability and specialized skills to: create procedures, regulations and forms which flow from policy; manage a number of sensitive, complex tasks simultaneously; read, analyze and interpret complex policy statements; demonstrate management skills; work with ethnically and culturally diverse student parent populations, provider populations, staff and community; organize and coordinate multiple priorities and projects; exhibit strong oral, listening, and written communication skills; operate standard office machines and computers; and proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
