SALARY/TIMEBASE: $8.50-9.50 hr./full-time
GENERAL INFORMATION:

Temporary - renewable, end date to be determined; Varied schedule as arranged; includes evenings and weekends

Duties:
Under general supervision, assists in preparing, cooking and dispensing foods. Maintains facility culinary equipment; supplies work areas as needed; works with other employees; assists Cook II; tends steam kettles; performs grill work; and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Six months of full-time experience as a foodservice assistant, performing grill work, and sandwich, salad, and dessert preparation, OR six months of experience in assisting a cook in the preparation and cooking of food in large quantities requiring knowledge of seasonings, preparation, and cooking times necessary to achieve the desired results.
Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to satisfactorily complete a training program in the preparation and cooking of all food groups; analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; follow oral, and written directions; work cooperatively with students, faculty, and staff; maintain personal hygiene; read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations at a level appropriate to the duties assigned. Must be familiar with the principles, procedures, and equipment used in the storage, care, preparation, cooking and dispensing of food in large quantities.
