| Duties: | |
| Under general direction, assists in the direction and coordination of opening activities within a foodservice unit; supervises the staff; records absences and call-ins; prepares money drawers for the cash registers; maintains a sufficient change fund; balances the safe each day; designates break schedules for cashiers and/or foodservices assistants; coordinates coverage of areas; and schedules cashiers to cover rush periods. Ensures food products are placed and set up in a timely manner; supervises the service area; and checks for cleanliness, product fullness; employee availability; and performs other duties as assigned. | |
| Qualifications: | |
| One year of full-time experience working within a food service or retail operation. | |
| Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities: | |
| Knowledge of the principles, procedures, and equipment used in opening a food service unit on a daily basis, and completing opening duties. Ability to: count money accurately, and to balance the cash drawer; plan, organize, and direct the work of others; analyze situations accurately, and adopt an effective course of action; demonstrate supervisory capabilities; maintain a clean and neat personal appearance; maintain a pleasant and friendly manner; communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing; read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations at a level appropriate to the duties assigned; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, faculty, students, and others. | |
