| Duties: | |
| Under general supervision, oversees the day-to-day operations of a foodservice unit. May assist with securing and preparation of cash receipts for verification and deposit. Inspects food facility for compliance with sanitary, safety, and housekeeping standards; assists in directing and coordinating all activities within the foodservice unit; and applies standards and procedures governing the operation of the foodservice unit. Estimates food and beverage requirements and orders products; assists in the training of staff; schedules employees for work and assigns tasks and duties; and performs other duties as assigned. | |
| Qualifications: | |
| Six months of full-time experience working within a food service operation. Previous supervisory experience in food service or retail operation supervision is required. | |
| Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities: | |
| Knowledge
of the principles, procedures, and equipment used in the storage, care,
preparation, cooking, dispensing and serving of food in large quantities;
food handling sanitation and safety measures used in the operation, cleaning,
and care of utensils, equipment, and work areas; effective personnel supervision
practices and planning; preparation and use of recipes in a food control
program; food accounting and adjusting rations to changing needs; and
training methods and planning. Ability and specialized skills to: establish
and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and staff;
conduct in-service training program; plan, organize, and direct the work
of others; maintain inventory and prepare requisitions and transfers;
analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action;
maintain a clean and neat personal appearance at all times; communicate
effectively both orally, and in writing; and read, write, and perform
arithmetic calculations at a level appropriate to the duties assigned.
Skill in judging food quality. Possess a good sense of smell and taste. |
