| Duties: | |
Under general supervision, supervises groups of children in indoor and outdoor environments; assists in preparing classroom and outdoor environments and daily classroom activities; oversees opening and closing of classroom; assists and/or substitutes for Master Teacher in setting up and leading activities appropriate to the age and development of the group; brings special problems of concern to Master Teacher or Director as appropriate; and performs other duties related to education and development of children and operation of the program as directed. |

| Qualifications: | |
| Twelve semester units in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university. Infant/Toddler units desirable. Equivalent to one year of full-time experience working with young children. Eligible for a California Child Development Associate Teacher Instructional permit. Meets State of California health standards for employment in a licensed Children's Center, including negative TB test. Must have a Department of Justice Criminal Clearance. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted. | |
| Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities: | |
Knowledge of age-appropriate behavior and activities for young children three months to five years old. Ability and specialized skills to: plan and execute children's programs; exercise good judgment for the health and safety of young children; change diapers; prepare educational materials; maintain environments; be self-motivated; work with a minimum of supervision; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. |
