Federal Perkins Loans

.

The University Collection Office is the contact point for students that have borrowed a Federal Perkins loan and have now separated from the University. This office oversees the collection of the Federal Perkins loans once the former student starts receiving bills that require payment. The University Collection Office telephone number is 818-677-2953. The fax number is 818-677-7878.

The student/former student needs to contact this office if they have a Federal Perkins loan with this university and need to:

  • Notify the office they have changed their name, address or telephone number.
  • Request a student deferment if they have returned to the campus or they are attending another campus as at least a ½ time student.
  • Request other types of deferments such as economic or unemployment.
  • Request a cancellation if they are employed at a qualifying position for a cancellation.

If the former student is now in repayment and receiving bills those payments would go to the campus billing servicer for the Federal Perkins loans at:

CSUN c/o ECSI, 181 Montour Run Rd, Coraopolis PA 15108

If a student/former student has questions regarding their loan pertaining to bills, deferments or cancellation they can contact the billing servicer ECSI at the toll free number 888-549-3274 or fax an item to 866-291-5384.

Any student/former student that has missed paying a bill needs to contact this office or ECSI immediately.

A Federal Perkins loan that remains delinquent will be referred to a collection agency with added fees. The delinquent loan will be eligible for litigation and all court costs will be added to the loan. If it becomes necessary to accelerate the delinquent loan then the entire loan amount becomes due and payable. Upon acceleration of the loan the student/former student will lose all privileges to deferments and cancellations.
